The Model 6805 Remote Telemetry Unit is a field modem designed to remotely interrogate Data Loggers via telephone lines. Its features include: Automatic answer & Automatic dial; 5 digit Audible Coded Message (ACM); three power modes (12V DC, 240V AC or SOLAR); and optional synthesized voice message communication.

The RTU is provided with a weatherproof enclosure with deep lid, and a mounting frame (Model 6103C) fitted within. Both the Data Logger and Field Termination Strip or Telemetry Switch will fit in this enclosure.
The Model 6805-30 Solar Powered RTU is designed to be interrogated once or twice a day. For continuous or more frequent interrogation UNIDATA suggests you use a dedicated telephone line and provide continuous power (12V DC or 240V AC) to the RTU. It frequent interrogation is required and continuous power is unavailable then we suggest that the Solar Powered RTU is powered via a large size solar panel and additional battery (available from UNIDATA).

The RTU can be programmed to initiate a call in case of alarm conditions and to transmit a spoken or digital message.

A synthesied voice option is available which speaks programmable phrases like "The water level is 12 metres.".

The built-in ACM facility allows the user to dial-up the RTU and listen to a sequence of audible tones which represents, for example, the current water level or temperature at that site.
