Microsplitter
(Jones)
Microsplitter 28 Chutes of 1/16-inch 3 Stainless Pans at 9.0 Cubic Inches each. These "Jones-type" fixed riffle chute splitters have a more rugged construction than similar units with thin metal chutes. The result is longer service life with assured splitting accuracy. For mixing and sampling fine powders, Model JP-171 is the most popular of the Micro Splitter series, and price is attractive because of volume production. The 14 chutes of 1/8" (3.2mm) width and pans are of hard aluminum alloy. Samples are poured from one of the 4 provided Standard Pans into the chutes using the stainless steel feed hopper as a flow guide. Standard Pans have an extended back to prevent loss of sample particles but have limited holding capacity. Order extras as SPA-241. For collection of larger sample quantities, special High-Volume SPA-242 pans can be used by positioning the splitter on the pan tops (see illustration). For users requiring all contact parts of stainless steel, order similar Model JP-171X. For best sampling of very fine powders, the special Model JP-170 has extra-narrow 1/16" (1.6mm) stainless steel chutes. Both these units come with 3 stainless steel pans. The Jones Precision Splitter selections are similar to Micro Splitters in quality and construction. The modular design provides durability to outlast normal thin metal construction. Models with chutes of 1/4", 3/8", or 1/2" (6.4, 9.5, or 12.8mm) width are offered, each in two overall sizes depending on number of chutes desired. Frames and gate-release hoppers are stainless steel, and riffle banks are hard aluminum alloy. The gated hopper permits pre-mixing during loading and the units require only the two included receiver pans for operation. Pans are aluminum or stainless steel as noted in the table on the previous page.
