| Features colorimetrics tests for pH, nitrogen, phosphorous and iron. Each test uses a clear liquid extract which is measured against translucent color standards in an OctaSlide Comparator. Potassium is analyzed by using a direct-reading turbidity tube, while calcium and magnesium tests are preformed with a direct-reading titrator. |  |
For evaluation of clay, sit and sand fractions, a soil texture test is included. Soil temperature is measured by a bi-metallic dial thermometer with 5-inch stem. Other items included in the lab include a foam-lined ABS plastic carrying case, pad of soil report forms, soil sampling bags, LaMotte Soil Handbook, and a 6-inch brass soil sampler that removes 3/8" core samples from the turf.
