The ATAGO Palette Series Digital Refractometers are truly a unique group of instruments. They combine the reproducibility of a benchtop digital with the convenience and portability of the hand-held analog units.

Operation is simple: 1) Place sample on the prism; 2) Press the START button -- within 2 seconds, the reading is displayed on the large LCD screen; 3) Wipe off prism with tissue and water (if necessary) -- the unit is then for the next sample.

All of the models feature Automatic Temperature Compensation (5-40°C) and are calibrated and operated with the push of a button. These units are ideal for on-line measurements in food & beverage facilities or any industry where portable precision is required. The Palettes are powered by a standard 9-volt battery. Their water-resistant, sturdy design makes them ideal for working in even humid or harsh conditions.

The ATAGO Model ES-421 Digital Salt-Meter is operated like the other Palette models, but it employs conductivity via the electrode fitted in the funnel-shaped   sensor. The ES-421 is essentially free from the damage and the special care required with salt-meters using glass electrodes. Measurement by conductivity allows the ES-421 to give extremely accurate salinity readings even on solutions with many other solids. Perfect for ketchup, mayonnaise, soy sauce, steak sauces, pickle juice, etc.
