General description
The apparatus comprises a CPU (Central Processing Unit), a built-in conditioning unit and 24 column printer. The front panel comprises a membrane keys and a 8 character LCD display. The Digimax III is fitted with RS232 output which can be used for connection to PC. The CPU is not only used for the display of the applied load but for many other functions such as:

Load pacer
The display shows if the load is applied conforming to the specifications enabling the operator to adjust the flow control valve of the testing machiine according to rate specified.

Peak hold feature
The maximum load reading is maintained on the display until cancelled by the operator.

Stress indication
The stress of the specifimen can be displayed and relates to the size of the specimen and the units selected by the operator.

Automatic zeroing
The load zeroing can be actuated at the beginning of the test to eliminate possible initial frictions and assuring a better test accuracy.

Function keys
The apparatus is provided with a number of function keys enabling the operator to easily input all necessary data as follows:

• Specimen (or test) N°: 8 digits
• Specimen area: mm²
• Load ratte: N/mm²
• Full scale: kN

Calibration function
The physical behaviour of the transducer (either pressure transducers of load cells) can be stored in memory in order to obtain the maximum accuracy of the readings.

Printout of test results
Specimen or test N°, date, peak load, stress.
