Crosslinkers &
Translinker
UVP's Crosslinkers provide an exposure instrument which utilizes shortwave UV energy to bond DNA to a medium. Models also available with longwave or midrange sources for laboratory and industrial applications. Wavelength interchangeability is possible by changing the UV tube and using the corresponding UV wavelength Calibration Sensor to recalibrate the unit to the new wavelength. The Crosslinker's internal microprocessor measures and controls UV output, ensuring maximum energy efficiency. UV crosslinking takes seconds as compared to hours for oven baking. The UV crosslinking procedure optimizes the use of the ultraviolet energy while ensuring that crosslinking is consistent. Features include:
The TL-2000 Translinker has all of the features of the Crosslinker and utilizes shotwave UV in the Crosslinker chamber. The Translinker additionally has UVP's M-20 transilliminator mounted to the Crosslinker cabinet. On/Off controls fort he transilluminator are included on the Crosslinker panel. The M-20 benchtopp transilluminator UV tubes are midrange 302 nm. Applications for Crosslinkers: Shortwave UV - UV crosslinking of DNA/RNA to membranes after Northern or Southern blot or dot blotting and colony or plaque lifts * nicking ethidium bromide stained DNA in Agarose Gels * Gene mapping for creating cleavage-inhibiting thymine dimers * Longware UV - Photochemistry * solar experimentation * UV curing * immunology research * Midrange UV - Phototherapy * UV curing * gradient sampling * UV crosslinking * solar experimentation Crosslinker - Dimensions Translinker - Dimensions
