the Blue Star label of excellence by meeting this strict new standard.
Carbon Monoxide Alarm Carbon Monoxide
(CO) has been a problem since man first harnessed fire. However, it is
only in the last few years that residential carbon monoxide alarms have
become widely available. Unfortunately, many alarms on the market have
created significant false alarm problems as well as the more
life-concerning false negative alarms - where a detector fails to go off
when dangerous levels of CO are present. Some people would say that these
alarms are more trouble than they are worth. AIM Safe-Air Products thinks
that your life is worth getting the right alarm.
Decription
Superior Technology AIM has been developing
leading-edge industrial gas detection and safety equipment for over 14
years. And now, we've engineered all this experirence into residential
carbon monoxide alarms that are affordable, accurate and reliable. The
fact is there is really only one acceptable type of sensing technology
that is effective and affordable for carbon monoxide detection - the
electrochemical sensor found in industrial CO detectors. AIM residential
CO alarms feature this same superior technology. AIM Safety has taken it
step further with its patented self-diagnostic system which provides the
most complete testing of your alarm automatically - every day! With this
unique combination, AIM residential CO alarms virtually eliminate false
alarms and false negetive alarms, ensuring your safety and peace of
mind.
IAS Safety Certification At AIM, we applaud the
efforts of the International Approval Service (IAS) for creating the
strict new IAS 6-96(98) Requirement for residential carbon monoxide
alarms. The IAS is the principal safety certification agency in the
United States for residential and commercial gas appliances and related
equipment, and provides unparalleled experience and expertise in the field
of gas detection. In recognition of the problems that exist with current
detectors, the IAS set about developing a standard that would, in part:
- Increase resistance to flase alarms and false negatives.
- Improve alarm accuracy.
- Increase alarm reliability and repeatability.
The result: Alarms that provide significantly more reliable protection
and the drastically reduce costly false alarms and life-threattening flase
negative occurences. AIM Safe-Air Products is proud to be the forst alarm
to be approved to this new requirement.
Unique digital display The AIM SAS-696D
model format Carbon Monoxide alarm also features a unique digital display
with exclusive memory capabilities. Levels of CO are instatly displayed
while a simple push of the test button provides valuable historic
information. This information can be used by professional responders to
quickly and accurately evaluate the severity and potential causes of the
CO situation, helping to close the loop on CO incidences.
