failure it is imperative to remove chloride salts from the surface before
any coating process.
Chloride salts left on the surface before the first coat is applied can
result in the coating system being forced off the surface by corrosion of
the product before the full life of the coating has been achieved.
Chloride ion testing can now be achieved quickly and accurately using a
novel extraction method based on the CHLOR*EXTRAC™ solution.
Technique The Elcometer 134 is an easy
to use test kit, for even the most difficult access areas.
Using the revolutionary new chloride extraction solution CHLOR*EXTRACT™
a representative sample is obtained in a few minutes. This sample is
tested on site using a simple titration tube. It is so easy to get
accurate results that even an inexperienced operator can do it.
The whole test takes less than five minutes from start to finish.
