The LCD Graphics display enables unambiguous readout of the measured parameters and also prompts the user with plain language instructions. The structured menus allow easy access to features with single key strokes. Appropriate error messages are displayed and, with the assistance of the "HELP" menu, guidance is given for corrective actions. Conductivity values can be displayed in Siemens units and in MOhms, a more useful parameter when measuring samples with very low conductivities such as purified water, and in TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) units which relate conductivity to the concentration of NaCI. A salinity mode will display conductivity results in ppm NaCI. The temperature coefficient of samples can be varied between 0 and 4%/°C. A default of 2%/°C will apply unless overridden by an entered value. 18, 20 and 25°C reference temperatures can be employed to ensure that the very temperature sensitive conductivity results can be directly compared. The Model 4320 additionally features enhanced capabilities for the analysis of very low conductivity solutions in the range of 5-18MOhms. The temperature coefficients of these solutions are non-linear. The meter applies the appropriate algorithms to enable the accurate determination of these solutions. Calibration is simply achieved by reference to the cell constant assigned to the sensor. This value can be verified by reference to KCI calibration standards. A multipoint calibration protocol is available on this unit to ensure optimum accuracy when measuring widely varying conductivity levels. The sensor supplied with the meter has platinum plates which have a platinised surface. Platinising sockets are provided on the rear panel of the unit to enable rapid and safe replatinisation of sensors. Specifications
